Nothing like reading !

“Nothing can replace reading”, says our beloved librarian Mrs. Sheeja Suresh. We all know that being a librarian is not an easy task. But Sheeja ma’am was a librarian in St. Johns school in Delhi, for the past ten years. She finds a lot of difference in the students of St. Johns and Gopalan. There she had to interact with students of classes above eighth whereas here she is experiencing  the way the younger kids are. She finds these kids  are very loving and interactive. The major difference she finds in the students of the higher classes in Gopalan and St. Johns, is that they do not use  the library much effectively. Sheeja ma’am feels that emphasis should be given to the study of classics, biographies, novels, encyclopedias, yearbooks, etc.
Sheeja ma’am says “Reading more books will always be profitable, and nothing will be lost.

Apart from her profession, Sheeja ma’am enjoys playing badminton and spending time with her family. Her family is the foremost for her. She has inspired her son, Sanjeet in reading lots of books by buying a bunch of them for him.
As a kid, Sheeja ma’am loved reading books, especially the Enid Blyton series. Reading was pretty much her passion. For time being, her favorite  author is Chetan Bhagat. She finds his writings very interesting and easy to understand. One of her favorite books of his is ‘Five Point Someone’.

We feel that Sheeja ma’am is someone from whom we can learn a lot of things! The way she speaks, her calm and quite attitude  and  the way she behaves very lovingly to everyone. She is one of the most caring and polite teachers in Gopalan. Her message to us— “ Next to acquiring good friends, the best acquisition is that of good books.” So we all must cultivate the good habit of reading .
